Question:

Why do I keep getting shocks?

I've noticed that I am always getting shocks when I pat my cats. I hardly ever get them off my car and sometimes get them off my laptop.

This is happening no matter what I'm wearing. I don't put my clothes in the dryer or anything.

What could be causing this?

  1. A dry atmosphere, synthetic flooring material and friction will tend to increase  the level of static.

  2. it could be caused not only by things you wearing but by furniture which surrounds.

Cats may accumulate static charge as well and hit you.

Almost any synthetic material is good at generating charge, so maybe it's worth to see how cats are spending their day, where they sleep for example.

  3. It's called static electricity!!!

You can get it from just dragging your feet across the floor!!!
