Why do I keep having trouble taking global warming seriously?

In Afghanistan life expectancy is a little over 43 ½ years old. In Nigeria it is just under 48. In Swaziland it is 39. These numbers are not aberrations. They are the normal for a large part of the world.

Global warming in a nutshell - But mankind’s greatest problem is not starvation, disease, poverty, or even the almost criminal lack of development that drives that whole train. It is not about poison or cancers; it is about how warm the poisons and the cancer-causers make the winter. It is about global warming.

Because you haven't studied it enough.

The African communities you talk about suffer from widespread starvation.  Damage to agriculture will make that FAR worse if we do nothing about global warming.

If you fix the other problems and do nothing about global warming, your efforts will have been wasted.  The effects are the same.

I am sorry but everything these days always seems to stem around Globel Warming.

Global Warming is a great new Buzz word that all people are harping about and  hanging on to.

All this clap trap about global warming starving etc is all down to MONEY? you either have it or you don't it is as simple as that? Our so called leaders etc are all on the band wagon and spin us a tale every day of our lives. Are we so dumb as to believe them THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX? and it will all become clear

Africas problems stem mostly from corruption in their current governments, and from the results of colonialism.

As far as global warming goes, the countries in Africa better sidestep industrial growth and jump straight into the computer age. These countries will not be allowed to begin manufacturing at the rates needed to lift their people out of subsistence farming. Mining, oil, and other resources within some African countries may soon be off limits due to restrictions of "climate policy". So, even if they can get their hands on the means to use them for themselves, it just won't be environmentally friendly for the white western intellectuals.

Let me write that down.  You say that the one degree rise in temperature in the past hundred years has caused all those problems?  According to your reasoning there should be more cancer in Miami than in Boston.  I am moving North!

Because we're asked to ignore the immediate problem to solve a theoretical long-term problem based upon a dooms-day prediction.

It's equivalent to being asked by a sales agent to buy flood insurance while your house is burning to the ground.

global warming.... pshhhh no such thing.. go ahead and put down thumbs down for this, but global warming is just what scientists make up, and the reason the life expectancy is that long is because they dont have as great discoveries as us.. like medicinesss.....

global warming is g*y just like the ozone lay.... how is that supposed to protect us from the sun??? it would burn it up anyways its too hot!!!!! and if we needed it why would we be put so close to the sun as it is.... another stupid thing scientists make up
