Why do I keep hearing a beep when I'm playing Literati that is not from my own game?

Even before entering a table I hear the sound that is normal when the play changes from one person to another, and it keeps going on and on.

  1. To clarify, you are saying that you are hearing random beeps while playing Literati.  Are you sure that it's not coming from what the other player is doing?
