Lately, a couple of universities have been sending me information about their schools. For example, the most recent one I received was from the ILR in Cornell University. Why do universities send me this?

  1. You got on a mailing list some kind of way.  You may have filled something out somewhere (not even related to school) and they sold your name.

Anyhow its never too early to start looking at universities and you are kind of late, junior and senior year will FLY by.  Get prepared.

  2. Did you do very well on a test like the PSAT? I had floods of college brochures after my PSAT scores came out. I realize you probably haven't even taken it yet, but perhaps there's some other test you took and got top scores on, or perhaps you attended a top college prep program or advanced class like summer advanced math at Yale or something.
