I want to wear my earphones so that i can listen to the audio of the screens that are in front of me, but i keep getting static shocks in my ears (painful). What is causing it? I see others having no problem. Is it my trainers?

  2. sounds like a van der graff generator.

the running belt could be rubbing off charge from somewhere and this built up charge is discharging onto you.

Try getting rubber soled running shoes. (i.e an insulator)
