Why do I lack emotion and empathy for others?

Pretty much ever since I can remeber, i've always had few freinds and never cared much if i were to lose any of my freinds, no matter how long i've known them. I have trouble showing my emotions and have trouble feeling sorry for other peoples. whats my problem?

I am like this. A few years ago I found I had a mental illness similar to mild autism. Perhaps you are care in other ways but you don't know how to show it. This is a maturity thing also. Have you ever noticed older people tend to relate better and communicate to others more than younger people. I take it you are young. Honestly, the simple act of asking this question shows me that you care. Perhaps you are just shyer and more stand offish than others. Not everyone is the same.
