Why do I like portraiture so much?

Question

In art, I like portraiture, there is some sort of connection and air of human-ness in those individual faces.

such as famous examples

boy with a pipe by picasso

girl with a pearl earring by vermeer

joseph roulin by van gogh

Is there a reason for it?

Like a psychological reason?

probably not, it's just your preference, all of my favourite art works are portraits also, why not try asking this in the psychology section?
