Why do I like to suspend myself?

When I was a child I was watching a movie where a man hung a little boy (not by his neck like an execution) by his trousers on a lampstand. The boy just hung there kicking his legs in frustration because he couldn't get down. This aroused me very much. I wished I could be that boy hanging by my pants. Later, when I was a teenager I would hang myself by my belt (around my waist) on a doorhinge. It was so exciting and I would climax. I am close to 30 now and I still like to suspend myself like this sometimes. I don't know why I like this. Can anyone explain why I like doing this?

This is simply a fetish related to what was going through your mind at the time you saw the movie.  Just be careful you don't get into a situation you cannot get out of - be safe - and you'll be okay.  If it really bothers you then you could see a psychologist with expertise in working with folks with a fetish - if it's not causing you any pain, risk or guilt then you might be fine just as things are.
