Its called "sample bias".

Self-fulfilling prophecy...

You believe you sense something will happen then you make it happen..  I.E. You feel you will not do well on a test then you sabotage your own test fulfilling you "prophecy"...

or

Logical progression...

Often one can logically see where something is headed due to prior similar situations... I.E.  A parent tells their child "Stop jumping on the sofa and running around like a wild animal or someone is gonna get hurt."  A few minutes later the child falls off the sofa and splits their head open...  Was it a prophecy or a logical progression of events based on prior similar situations...  

When this happened to my then 7 yr old youngest child there was no prophecy involved her older siblings had tried similar stunts ending badly why should it be any different for her...

It did make for a funny encounter at the E.R. when the Dr. asked her "What happened?" and she replied "My mom said, Stop or someones gonna get hurt and I got hurt."  The Dr. (also a parent) laughed and said "Tell me the whole story I sense this one is gonna be good."  At least telling the story(as only a very overly  dramatic  7 yr old can tell it)   kept my daughters mind off the process as she received 15 stitches to the back of her head... It also gave the Dr. and nurse doing the stitches a few laughs to brighten up their 36 hour E.R. shift..  LOL

Have you ever considered God himself may have given you this gift, to understand things before they happen, don't you know who lives on the inside of you. God does, a little bit of him lives with in you, in everyone, you should pray and ask God about it and see what answers he gives to you.
