Question:

Why do I smoke so much when I drink?

It's weird. Everytime I drink, my craving for a cigarette increases by like ten! I don't know why....could it be because, the more you drink and the more drunk you are, the more you believe that smoking will heighten the affects of intoxication? I don't know. I also notice that I don't even really feel the nicotine going through my body (thus making the "drunk" or "tipsy" feeling that much more euphoric), so why do a lot of people smoke more when they drink? I guess it gives them something to do with their hands and mouths making them feel cooler? I really don't know. ANSWERS PLEASE!!!!

  1. Aha, I do know! It's because alcohol is a central nervous sytem *depressant* and nicotine is a CNS *stimulant.* So your body wants the nicotine to counteract the depressant effects of the alcohol.

  2. hah, same here! i'm a regular cig smoker, but when i'm drinking i am a CHAIN SMOKER! i don't know what it is myself, but sometimes i use it as a chaser. i'm not a huge fan of beer but i'll drink it, and a puff will make the nasty taste go away because i'm already used to THAT nasty taste =]

  3. I like to smoke when I'm drunk too...I never want a cigarette any other time. I can feel it though when I smoke, it makes me feel a whole lot more f***** up.

  4. Yeahh me too!!!!!!!  It tastes really good for me, and if you get extremely drunk and have a cig, you can feel it makes you feel wayyy worse, so that's how I know it actually affects your high, wether it be from alcohol, etc.
