  1. dude, stay away from the drugs!!!

No really. Sleep paralysis is more common then you'd think. It's a common side effect of narcolepsy. Normally it effects more African-American then it does Caucasians, which I find quite odd.

You may need to reduce stress. Get on a regular sleeping schedules. No more naps, sleeping in, and avoid sleep deprivation (insomnia).

  2. i happens to 1 out of 50 people

  3. maybe you are just imaging it.

  4. You mean a dream or nightmare?

  5. In the past I didn't have sleep disorders. It must have happened to me one time..but i wasn't asleep or even close. I was laying on the bed and it felt like someone was on my back. Now I have sleep disorders..and lots of nightmares..but never had sleep paralysis happen to me. When I was a child..I slept in a room where I was afraid of the walk in closet. I used to get so scared I'd "freeze". Maybe that was sleep paralysis..but I think it was just fear. I'm not really sure all these sleep paralysis reports are really sleep paralysis.

Wushaboy...what if someday you found out it wasn't sleep paralysis..but spirits . lol I guess that shows that as long as you're not afraid of them..you won't have fear of them!

  6. hi!!.. look up  "old hag sleeping syndrome" on your favorite search engine. ;)

  7. Up to 90% of the population has at one time or other experienced sleep paralysis and the attendant symptoms, such as panic and hallucinations upon waking. Teenagers and young adults are most vulnerable to having recurrent episodes of sleep paralysis. The reason is unknown but it is a caused by a glitch in the neurochemistry involved in sleeping and waking. Sleep disorders can be part of a symptom complex of other other diseases such as epilepsy or ADHD --this Does Not mean that disordered sleep means that you have these diseases, it means that If you have these other diseases, you probably have disordered sleep/wake symptoms.

  8. hehe, dont know about the phantom limb, however, i do know about sleep paralysis as I have suffered it quite a bit myself.

Its related to the chemicals in the brain which aid the transitions between sleep stages.

It is caused by a number of things, Stress, irregular sleep paterns, an uncomfortable bed, change in sleep locations, and/or other sleeping disorders like sleep apnea and narcilepsy.

If you want to look stuff up about it, its commonly called sleep paralysis.

  9. you are in the middle of conciencenes and rem state. it happens to alot of poeple, usually paralyze expercience. audible and out of body experiences.

  10. You might be being abducted by aliens.

  11. Because that is exactly one of the options the dream state falls into.

You dream you are dreaming.  So you have to wake up twice.

  12. A dream is a hallucination while sleeping.  Are you asking why you have them?  It's because the rational control part of your brain is inactive but the brain itself is still operating.  I see it as a car running without a driver.

That's funny about the third arm.

  13. When you say a phantom limb.. did you feel your body was not in the same postion as how you were laying in bed..This can happen when the early stages of astral begin. Your spiritual body starts to move out of your physical body, and feels quite odd. , and you feel you are in a different position to the position of your body while it lays in bed.

  14. You are about to come out of your body...It's called Astral Projection.

That's exactly how I first came out of my body.  I got the sleep paralasis and I slowly took my "arm" out and it was all see through...kinda like an ex-ray.

Now I just roll out and my etheric body walks around my house and even flys...(believe it or not)
