Why do I still hear about KATRINA and Nothing about all the flooding in IOWA?

Even know that I admit that Iowa got hit hard by the remains of katrina, it didn't have the destructive factor of on the coast, like new orleans, They got it worse, yet all Iowa got was a flood,  But I agree, They should have said some more on Iowa, it was bad there.

Sqeaky wheel gets the grease.  Iowa better economically tha Louisiana.  Better colored poor people.

The same reason you don't hear about the folks in Alabama and Mississippi who got hit by Katrina, they took the money they got and rebuilt with it, didn't blow it on stupid stuff then expect more.

Because the flood victims in Iowa refused to be victims and helped each other out.  Katrina victims sat ( and are still sitting ) on their laurels waiting for everything to be done for them.

In the Midwest people spend their efforts rebuilding and working. Not whining and complaining. Instead of complaining about the government not doing everything for us, we are grateful when the government gets out of the way so we can get things done.

Exactly.  The same year as Katrina-New Mexico had horrible fires that burned thousands of acres of land and homes.  But you didnt hear about that on the news.  The people there didnt blame the government or expect the government to support them for the rest of their lives.  And New Mexico is just as poor or poorer than Louisiana.

I actually live in Iowa and I agree with the person above-Iowans refuse to be brought down and they help eachother out-the poor people in New Orleans want the government to come help them without helping themselves and eachother.  Iowa's damage was VERY VERY bad, but people here pulled through.  There are still people that have to live in places other than their own homes, but you dont ever hear about that on national tv...you still hear about Katrina though.  GRRRRRR
