I don't know why I do it, but sometimes when I'm in a conversation with someone (real or fake) and they say something that I don't agree with or something I have an opinion about I feel the need to speak my mind and argue with them. It happens in real life conversations and in conversations I make up with people that are not really there but I pretend they are. Why do I do this?

  1. maybe you are just crazy

  2. I do the same thing and i have always wondered why i do.  Until someone told me that i want to push people away.   If someone does something i don't like i pick a fight with them or says anything i don't like i have my opinions.  That means we are strong people but we shouldn't speak all of our opinions because people tend to get offended.  Try to accept it and i know how hard it is.  But then i always end up with no friends because i push everyone away.

  3. YOu have the need to be right all of the time.Sometimes even if youare right it's opk to let someone else have the victory.YOu can't win all of the battles!! : )

  4. Well, if it's with real people, then that's just human nature.  The reason why arguments are created is because everyone has different opinions and most people have a difficult time respecting them.  Like with me, if someone in front of says that they disagree or doesn't like something I like, I tend to get a little defensive, since it's difficult for me to be more open minded, and I feel I have to agree with the other person--so this normal human behavior.  I'm not telling you that you should agree with the other person to avoid argument--it's okay to still disagree, but at the same time you should respect the other person's different view point and try to see their perspective, so that way you're not attacking them.  Say the following in a calm way: "Well, I have to disagree with you but I still respect your opinion.  You may think whatever you want, I'm just stating my side."  It's one of those situations where you have to "agree to disagree."  Remember, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

  5. Because you are always right, and they are always wrong?  I'm just putting it out there, but anything is possible.

  6. Because you're destined to be a lawyer!

But seriously, this is in part due to youth (I'm guessing of course).  When we're young, the world seems mostly black and white, that is, absolutes seem reasonable and proper.

However, when we get a few years under out belts, and a few experiences that bring to light that there is a BIG grey area between those absolutes of black and white, we tend to stop thinking "I'm right and he's wrong" - we begin to realize that there are a LOT of factors involved in making ethical or moral decisions.
