Why do INDIANS stare?

Now before anyone calls me racist hold on for one second. Whenever I get on public transportation, I can't help but wonder why are they staring at me. I was on the bus last week, and this Indian couple were sitting across us, we were talking about sights and landmarks, so then when I turned to look, this is guy and girl are looking at me like I'm the Asian dude from Virgina Tech. I looked away, then took another glance and there still staring right at my eyes. So I asked him whats up and he didn't say anything. So I want to know is it me or do Indian people have a thing for staring//?

don't generalise us , ok. I've seen plenty of white, black, asian people staring at me. btw isn't it ironic that you look indian yourself in your profile pic?

yea, livin' in India we ask that every day.

I used to think it was just me - but then I met other expats who say they go home look in the mirror and literally take stock:

"ok 1 skull, 1 arms, 2 legs... hmm"

And we know it ain't flattery - they make NO secret of their opinion that blacks are ugly.  One Bollywood starlet even announced it on TV.

I've been to Malaysia, parts of Europe & Sri Lanka.  The experience has been unique to India, so far.

it has nothing to do with them being indian, people are people the fact is you thought that a couple were staring at you why does the fact that their indian have to come in to it ,everyone is their own person regardless of race,i mean people would be asking this a million times round if it was about race for example why did that asian guy smile at me do all asian people smile at strangers or why did that english girl not say excuse me huh do all english people not say excuse me see my point generalizing is stupid cause a race doesn't determine a persons action they themselves do.

As for them staring at you maybe you should take it as a compliment they may have mistaken you for a hot celeb i mean you can always tell yourself that.

maybe they're not accustomed to seeing a lot of black guys? or maybe they found you to be good looking or maybe unique? who knows, everytime i walk into a chinese restaurant the chinese people who run the restaurant just stand there staring at me, i'm not the only person in the restaurant you know. lol.it was freaky.

How would you know they were staring if you were not watching them. Perhaps you are different, there are plenty of reasons, they may think you are hot, ugly, tall, short, skinny, fat, nerdy, cool, ect ect...... PEOPLE STARE REGARDLESS OF ETHNICITY. So many people generalize, it's so ignorant.

Well, either it's a conspiracy, or you have remarkable facial features.

I have, on occasion, looked at people's faces when i'm not doing anything as if i were looking upon a peice of art (which ultimately, of course, means that beauty means very little to me).
