I know nowadays the bride and groom may meet a few times, but this was not the case in the earlier days. Im curious why such a thing would happen?

Thanks in advance. 10 points for best answer.

  1. Lol, yeah the reason you don't see them in divorce court is because they arn't allowed to get divorced. Really, how would they be allowed to divorce if they can't pick who they want to marry? I'd hate that.

  2. i think they say love after marriege its culture

  3. they're jokers...what can you do...

  4. I don't know but you don't see Indians in court for divorce now do you? Maybe they on to something we need to do. This dating thing for the birds.

  5. It's their 'tradition and culture'.  Something others cant even try to reason out.

  6. it is their culture and tradition . like everyone has their own that is theirs . also the parents picked their wife for them or it is an arrangement betwen the 2 families . . it isnt why their marriage last longer but they take their vows seriously and also it is somewhat a shame to get divorced.

i am not indian but we have a somewhat culture close to that as to you re not supposed to see the groom for at least 2 weeks minimum before the wedding and we have a traditional cerremony, a civil one and a religious one . we just dont ask "would you marry me " instaed the man family wakes up early in the morning and come to the girl family and ask for your hand . the groom doesnt even come . then they say yes and set a date and you have a traditinal one , then a civil one then a religious one . it is all a CULTURE thing .
