  2. Italians are very animated people.. Have been for generations and always will be.

  3. why do people from other countries wear towels on their heads and wear bed sheets.  because that's what they do.

  4. Italians are famous for being very expressive people, its just the culture i guess. I live in England so we're always brought up to nevr look stranegrs in the eye as we pass them *shrugs*

  6. Because we are a very interested people. That is kind of how we show that we are paying attention and that we are interested in the topic.

    They also do it becuase of how the language is structured. It can require illustraion to make a point understood in some ways. You can of course communicate with just words but it helps to add gesture.

    It also illustrates feelings on a subject.

  9. it is an universal way to communicate! In fact gestures with hands are emphatized when we speak with people who don't speak Italian. It becomes simpler making others understand us when we speak, for example, English.

  11. It's probably a cultural thing.  If everyone talks while making gestures with their hands, then when you learn to talk, you'll probably learn to use those gestures too.  And, if everyone else talks that way, then you are always simply used to talking that way as well.
