  1. Were paying back "ceasers things to ceaser." We are required to pay tax, so we do so. they pay for far more than military operations. we do not "shun" those who serve their country, but we personally wouldnt serve as that would comprimise our political neutrality, and also put us into alot of bad situations. We show our respect for secular authority's, despite where in the world we live as we are commanded to do.

  2. We pay our taxes, what the government does with the money is up to them.

  3. God only knows I ain't no JW but in their defense I have to say that they have no choice on the matter.  Not saluting the flag, reciting the pledge of allegiance or signing the national anthem is one thing but not paying taxing is an option that will land them in jail

  4. I served in the Army, I wasn't shunned, and what taxes are those?

  5. Paying taxes is a Christian requirement, what is done with the money is not our responsibility.

Where did you get the idea that we shun those who were in the military?

  6. We pay the same taxes everyone else pays.  Local, state, federal, whatever.  We do it because we are told in scripture to pay to Caesar what is his and to God what is his.  Caesar wants tax, God wants loyalty, devotion, and worship.

  7. The Bible commands us to pay tax.

What the Govt does with the money is their business

    Rom 13:6,7

For that is why YOU are also paying taxes; for they are God’s public servants constantly serving this very purpose. Render to all their dues, to him who [calls for] the tax, the tax; to him who [calls for] the tribute, the tribute; to him who [calls for] fear, such fear; to him who [calls for] honor, such honor.

Now show me the verse that says it is okay to kill people just because they happen to live on the other side of the imaginary line called a "border"?

  8. We do not shun people who serve in the military, and we are just fallowing orders, Jesus told his followers to "pay back Caesars things to Caesar" and Paul told Christians "to be in subjection to the superior authorities." Afterwards, what the government decideds to do with that money, it is all up to them.

  9. Jehovah's False Witnesses do not want to go to jail. They want to go door to door with their rehearsed robotic speech and magazines every Saturday. They do this because they think Jesus did this.

  10. paying taxes is part of the law... so i will join my other brothers and sisters in saying WE OBEY THE LAW.............so yes we ALL of our taxes no matter where it is being used.

  11. JW's dont know what to do! They are all over the place. They are part of a religion that continuously predicts jesus' return when the bible says no man knows the day nor the hour, they think that going door to door will earn them a place in heaven, there was even a time when anyone who was not white could not participate in JW practices and beliefs!! They all just need to do better!

  12. Jesus said pay your taxes (Jehovah's Witnesses pay taxes).

Jesus said stay separate from the world, and not to take up weapons anymore (Jehovah's Witnesses do not participate in war).

"So are you suggesting that Jesus payed taxes to support the slavery the Romans had in the first century???

OMG ....now Jesus was an Opresser........

    come one .......be more intelligent"

Maybe if you ever cracked open your Bible, you would see that Jesus did in fact pay a tax for himself and his disciples. He did it when he told one of his followers to open the mouth of a fish, which he pulled out a coin to be used to PAY THE TAX!!!!!!

Read the Bible and maybe next time you won't sound so foolish, or as you put it: "come one .......be more intelligent"!

As far as the question...it's not our problem what the tax is used for. It also pays for the police service, fire dept, roads, schools, etc.

  14. First, witnesses DO NOT shun persons who chose to serve their country.

    With that said...

Jesus told his followers to "pay back Caesars things to Caesar" and Paul told Christians "to be in subjection to the superior authorities."

So in obedience to these biblical principles, witnesses pay taxes. What the government chooses to use the money towards is their decision.

  15. I know a number of jWs who look for loop holes to get out of paying taxes. Jim Zimmerman is a JW accountant and he was convicted of tax fraud. It turns out that he was also cooking the books for many Kingdom Hall accounts, Circuit and District overseers and  Bethelites, including a number of the governing Body. So, JWs like many others are guilty of tax fraud.

Second of all, those who join the military are automatically disassociated. And yes, they most certainly are shunned. I don't know the details of the guy below who said he was not shunned, but I can guarantee he was NOT BAPTIZED. It is also apparent that he doesn't know very much about JWs.
