Why do Joe Cheng seems to have a little participation in It started with a kiss 2?

I've been watching It started with a kiss 2 at a TV network here in the Philippines and it seems like he has a little participation in this sequel compared before. He's always out either he has to go with a trip in a med school or something. Does he have more participation in the latter part of the sequence?...

hmm he has more participation later on in the drama, but it's mainly focusing on ariel. It's a great drama :D, but i like the first one better.
