  1. maybe cuz of weather? i got no idea sorry

  2. I think it has to do with the state u live in and your school district too. but I dont start school till the 26  and im texas.

  3. iduno but i dont start school untill september (ny)

& my cousin started like 2 weeks ago

    she lives in Ga

and my other cousin lives in sc and she starts this week

    that sucks

but then again they get out before me like in may i usually get out in june

    so it evens out

  4. I think it has something to do with the heat.

  5. well schools in the north get out later into the summer like in june and most schools in the south get out on may as for why i have no clue

  6. It just depends mostly on the weather.

I live in North Carolina, my dad teaches in one county, my sister goes to school in another county.  My sister starts school tomorrow, and my dad starts school next week or the 25th...I can't remember.  The reason why my sister starts earlier is because we get more inclement weather (ice and snow) than the county that my dad teaches in.  So, to help keep my sister from staying in school until July because of all the snow days, they start earlier.

But that's in North Carolina....I don't know about the entire nation.

  7. thats a really good question. I just moved from new york city to north carolina and i start school august 25th meanwhile i only got out on june 26th???

  8. weather?

  9. i recently moved from washington to florida

    big change

i guess in the south you get out earlier but start earlier

in washington (which is far up north) it rains all the time. so you really dont get summer until mid july, so i guess we get out later because of the actuall summer haha. i really dont know why this is just a guess

  10. because in the south it gets too hot in june. so the kids need to get out earlier like the begining of june instead of the end

  11. In the north its a law that they have to start after labor day, at least in MI it is.  Because in the south, it gets soooo hot that they need to be in school while in the north its just starting to get warm in july.  They need August because June is still not that nice, it rains aton.  In the south, they are hottttt in August and thats why they dont have to start after Labor Day

  12. I was wondering the same thing!! I'm in the south and I start on the 14th of August but my friend up in the north starts around the 2nd week of September....crazy! But I'd rather start in August, cuz we're let out earlier! :))
