  1. Ignorance is right, the right are so ignorant when they try and make Bush out to be a great President when he has done nothing but tear this country apart. Oh and as to the low approval rating for Congress, go look at the personal ratings of each member, you'll find that it is the obstructionist on the right that have low ratings.

  2. It wasn't a democratic congress that decided to invade a country that had nothing to do with 9/11; it was that idiot and his henchmen....

  3. notice since the democrates took congress the economy has been going down hill ever since...

  4. WWFDRD

  5. did any one else see the new economic ratings they are now BETTER then 7 years ago it just came out last week only a 5% UNEMPLOYMENT RATE

but shhhhh bush is the bad guy we  need change

  6. At the risk of being kicked out of the GOP, I'll tell the truth.  It's not so hard because I used to work for the Democrats before I became a Republican.

I've done fund raising for both.

You need an "enemy" and you pick the biggest, most well-known one you can find and then you make him into the Worst Person on Earth.

In the 80s, Reagan was your guy!  He was the "amiable dunce," who was nothing but a B-grade movie actor who would made the US into Bedtime for Bonzo and take us into WWIII with his whacko plans for Stars Wars missile shields in Outer Space (which in reality were nothing more than bluffs for the Russians) You screamed when he called it the Evil Empire and told Gorby the "Tear down this Wall!" and said that he would provoke nuclear war.

Then the GOP had a field day with Boy Clinton and his saxphone, Barbara Streisand, and, of course, Monica Lewinsky. Hillary has always been worth millions of dollars in fundraising.  And when all else fails, we know that Teddy Kennedy can bring in bucks like nothing else, You have no idea how he can get the juices going even though he has worked well with some of our Senators over the years.

Now, Nancy Pelosi is the Gift that Keeps on Giving.  She just can't keep her mouth shut.

Obama is a walking ATM machine with a punch line.

You are exactly correct that Bush hasn't been a bad president at all but the Democrats have done a brilliant job of demonizing him.

There was an article in the Washington Post the day after Pelosi became Speaker and she said that after the 2000 election the Democrats consulted with PR and marketing pros about taking back power.  Part of the plan was to diminish Bush personally by making him seem like a "dummy" who couldn't get a straight sentence out and therefore they wouldn't have to deal with his issues until they could retake the White House in 2004.  They would constantly hammer the idea that he had "stolen" the election from Al Gore, the legitimately "elected" president, and that Bush had only "won" because the GOP-appointed court had "selected" him.

    Do the words sound familiar?

They used the old Big Lie theory - that if you say something often enough, using the same words over and over again, people will believe it.

    They succeeded.

There WAS gridlock.  Neither the GOP nor the Democrats has had a large enough WORKING majority in the House to get anything done because the Great Middle - those fine moderate Congressmen - aren't willing to sell out to the Far Right or the Far Left.

    Is that a bad thing?

    Not for most of us.

I've always believed that a little gridlock is good because it keeps them  from rushing into stupid stuff.

Maybe we should vote for Divided Government.

A GOP White House to keep a Democratic Congress in line?

Or kick out Pelosi and her Posse?

I don't want them rushing into anything.

  7. because as socialists..they believe the government is the alpha and the omega...

pretty much the opposite of our founding fathers

  8. The economy started taking a nose dive in the Clinton era... Then you tack on wars, disasters, terrorist... NO president would have come out any better then Bush. of course we can have good ole Jimmy Carter with his economics! Vote Obama so our taxes can go up, the price of gas will go up, cost of living will go up. and yes even those making under 250K will have a tax increase.

  9. Bush did cause a lot of problems regardless of what you think of congress.  Things have been much better since the Democrats took congress precisely because they were able to cause gridlock and stop Bush/Cheney from doing everything they wanted.

Congress hasn't been able to fix the leak yet but at least they've stopped the flow.

  10. I could go into a long explanation but it in the end it comes down to this: ignorance.

  11. Findmind: Don't you find it interesting that the last 2 years, when the Democrats controlled congress, is when things started to slump.

  12. If I remember correctly, the majority of the time that Bush has been in office there has been a REPUBLICAN controlled congress.

  13. Congress has no clout. Veto by the president, and if congress wants to get something passed they have to tack on a bunch of republican pork just so the president will even look at it.

The economy was riding on credit folks....the bill is in the mail!

We had a surplus, now we have a debt. We have a trillion dollar war. We have no energy policy for the future, just future trading.  Bush will go down in history as the worst president in history.

  14. they have only been in there for the LAST 2 of his 8!!! years...
