with so much talent here in the U.S. i do not understand why there is a need to go out side and invest so much money in baseball camps in latin america when there are so many inner city kids here that can benefit and that also have dreams of making it big. i look at the teams and the mojority of them are imported players what is up with that - i just think they should look at home first.... i'm just sayin...

  1. We may have invented baseball but the Latin Americans and the Asians perfected it..did you watch the World Baseball Classic? America has gotten complacent with our abundance of talent. We know we are good at everything so we just go thru the motions..FIBA Championships anyone? At least we know we have the gold medals in the summer olympics wrapped up..ftw...

  2. they are very good players, better than the innercity kids, mlb teams wnat to have the best, that is where they get them

  3. A Dominican friend of mine once explained to me that a good number of kids there play baseball every day several hours a day for 10 years or more.  It's a poor country and for many, many kids - there's not a lot else to do.

American kids have so many more competing interests that it's not the same here any more.

  4. Cheaper talent

    Better players

You need the best players. Better players=more wins=world series=more fans=more money

Baseball teams have an obligation to themselves not the youth of america

  5. mlb teams want to win so they think that players from outside of the us can play better then the people from the us.

  6. Because MLB teams want to win, although there is a lot of talent in the US there is also a lot of talent everywhere else. They want the best of the best from everywhere, not just the US.

  7. Because they want to win and getting the best players in the world is what it takes.

  8. Because there is more players who are actually  better than american players. Players from the dominican are cheap talent and Japan has produced some of the best pitchers today. Inner city kids don't really care about baseball. In baseball the word "signed" or "acquired" is used, not hired.
