  1. Its their personal choice. Im not entirely sure maybe it feels better to them or have a better grip, maybe its a lighter raquet. I guess it could be many things....... if only i had Rafa`s number id call him and ask him :) then get back to you.

  2. It's probably because the 17 gague is thinner and is easier to break.  That's the only reason I could think of since both of them are really hard hitter.  I don't think they like to break strings that easily :)
