Question:

Why do PC speakers suddenly stop working?

I have Durabrand speakers for my PC. They work okay a lot of the time, but sometimes, for no apparent reason, the sound becomes very quiet. I've tried turning up the volume and checking the volume control, but all seems in place. Once I reboot the PC they work normally again. They are hooked up correctly and I cannot find any solutions with the Durabrand website. Anyone have any ideas on what's causing this or how to fix it? (I do notice that they usually seem to quit working after playing any PC video game or listening to music or a video off of the net.)

  1. check the wires inside your speakers...

  2. if a computer reboot fixes your problem

it ISNT wiring or connection related

    rebooting wouldnt fix that

given the timing of your sound issue

I would guess that your directx is causing a sound related driver issue

try getting a newer version of directx

and trying to find a newer driver version for your soundcard

    good luck!
