Why do Pelosi and the Democrats want to destroy the planet?

The U.S. has the safest, most environmentally friendly drilling rigs in the world. Why do the Democrats, by refusing to allow a vote, not want us to use them for oil harvesting and instead want to get our oil from nations like Venezuela where environmental standards are much, much lower?

I understand your confusion!  

There motives certainly need to be questioned.  I've resisted conspiracy theories in the past, but it's hard to understand why the party trying to "protect the planet", refuses to allow the most eco-friendly country do the exploration that is required.

I suspect that they don't have a problem with the high prices of oil and are more than happy to keep them there in order to further their agenda, having more control over the lives of America's citizenry.
