Why do Republicans bother to vote in California, and Democrats in Alabama?

Is it more for the other races since the presidential election is a foregone conclusion in those states?

The electoral college should go, but in the mean time why would anyone want to not vote? Its the single most important right to being American!

Because they can.  Even if you know what will happen...at least you tried.

If the Electoral College were to "go", your question would have to be "Why do people outside of LA and NY bother to vote at all?"

I agree.  The electoral college rewards more populous states making less populated states individual votes worth less.  That is not how it should be.

Having said that, my state always votes republican, but I will still do my duty and vote this Nov.
