Question:

Why do Republicans claim Palin is more qualified than Obama?

Presidential scholars say Palin is the least experienced, least credentialed person to join a major-party ticket in the modern era. Obama served eight years in the Illinois state senate before he was in the senate. You cannot compare mayor of a town with just 5,000 with the millions of people in Illinois.

  1. Id say it was the 148 days in the senate compared to almost two years of on the job reality.Palin couldnt vote present like Obama, she had to actually do something.

  2. You forgot to mention that she's been a governor.  Like the Presidency and Vice Presidency, that is an executive role.  Legislative bodies make laws, they are not accustomed to multi-tasking and directing various cabinets and departments.  I'll take a governor or CEO over a legislator or lawyer any day.

  3. It's a mystery to me, since her previous political experience consists of 2 terms on the city council of Wasilla, Alaska, 2 terms as mayor of the same small town, before becoming Governor of alaska less than two years ago.  Her experience before that consists of beauty pageants (Miss Congeniality of Wasilla, Alaska) and jounalism.

  4. The other people didnt mention that Palin wasn't involved with politics (city or state) for 4 years. She was mayor until 2002 and she didnt run for governor until 2006. So, she spent 10 years on the local stage and 20 (almost 21) months on the State of Alaska stage. On the contrary, Obama spent 3 years on the local stage working as a community organizer (that probably involved meeting with the city council and/or mayor) spent 7 years on the State of Illinois stage and 43 months on the national state. Yes, she did make some "executive" decisions as a governor, but its not like Obama didnt make any decisions of the same nature as a university professor, community organizer and as a senator. He was also the chairman of the Illinois Senate's health and human services committee.

I think the republicans think its ok because what ever they say about obama, doesnt apply to them. They dont have to follow their own criticism of obama. I also think that just because Obama didnt make any direct "executive" decisions, that doesnt mean that wasnt involved in the decision making process and/or he didnt make any. As a US senator, he made decisions that could potentially affect the entire nation, including Alaska. I'm talking about his decision to support or not support the bills in Congress.

  5. she's not a d**n mayor

    She is Gov. Sarah Palin

she has more executive experience than Obama and Biden

  6. Can we say Gov. Obama or Gov. Biden?  NO!  She has shown leadership.  She HAD to.  The other 2 just have to show up.  In Obama's case, he shows up to pass on votes.

  7. As a busy mommy she had to balance the budget and organize her house.

Running the US is the same 'cept instead of managing 5 people she will manage 300,000,000 people.

  8. Let's face it. I am not a dem or rep so keep an open mind when reading this.I am a female and I am all for equal rights. My hat goes off to Palin raising a family and having a corporate and political career. However, I find it embarrassing that the the republicans just insulted their entire party by picking Palin over other qualified republicans. It is not about Obama. It is about their party. Again, their were other republicans that earned their wings and they were not given a chance. They could have still did something for Palin. But why all of a sudden..They shocked their own and making their own have to defend a woman that they do not know nor the public does not know. All we know that baby could be of incest. And I am not attacking them personally we just don't know them. People who are asking these dishonest republicans to be truthful for once will defend their own to the end. And that is okay but God will look out for the true right human being. Don't even waste your time with them because God apparently is showing them that it is time for change. Obama spoke brilliantly and from the heart in from of 85 million people and it was perfect. The reps tried to attach and call him a rock star but God held the whether up so his message can come across. McCain panicked and picked a woman thinking any woman could beat Obama and any woman can be Hillary. That just goes to show you the mind set of how they view their women. I am not a dem or rep. I just use good common sense. Now...Back To God..Look at who the hurricane parade is raining on now..God is bigger than all of this..And my prayers goes out to all of those in the path of the hurricane that no lives are lost and property are not damaged. however, the damage has already be done to the republican convention...Remember, I am in the middle but my voice keeps is real...real voices..real people...

  9. obamas time as a state senator was for district 213. that was about 2000 people in the worst part of chicago.

try to get your facts straight!

    palin enters politics in 1992

    obama comes in 1996

    obama works for the government

    Palin runs the government.

obama from 2004 to now has only serverd 143 days as a senator according to the roll call from www.thomas.gov

thats the online library of congress's website.

  10. Obama served 8 yrs in the Senate worked only 143 days as a JUNIOR Senator before starting his wizard of oz campaign, wrote hundreds of bills, only 3 Passed so your point is not valid

Obama's entire real world work resume. 145 days experience in the Senate with nothing to show for it, only 3 bills passed.  Zero military experience, Quick trip to Middle East, Never physically worked a hard day in his life……Barack Obama barely qualifies to work in a McDonalds. We wont even mention his devotion to extremist, radical and racist religious views for which he was ingrained and worshipped for the past twenty years. Two years as a lawyer and only 14 minor trials. And two years as a "community organizer" with nothing  accomplished.

  11. They're both running for different positions, so that argument's really not valid.  True, if McCain gets elected and dies, Palin will be the President.  If Obama gets elected, however, he won't have the luxury of waiting for Biden to die before becoming President.

Those "scholars" failed to even mention Obama in their article.  That tells me that they've been gunning for him for a long time.

  12. It's an absurd claim.

Palin's 18 months of so-called "executive" experience vs. Obama's 12 years in the Illinois Senate and U.S. Senate? Plus everything else he did as an attorney and as a hands-on community organizer?

    Please!

It's absolutely laughable to say that Palin has more experience. Anyone who does is either ignorant of the facts or is lying through their teeth.
