Why do Republicans support abstinence only education? Does that really work?

Only some Republicans do.  Well, they did until they got pregnant.  Not all Republicans do.  I like a woman with a nice Ortho-Novum habit myself.

I heard someone once say that it is like telling your kid that they shouldnt drink and drive, but if they do, to wear a seatbelt.  Likewise, it makes no sense to believe in abstinence and give your kid birth control.

I think everyone knows about birth control when they are 16/17 regardless of what they were taught at home.  I dont believe one thing has to do with the other.

To Tired below:  Where did you get that "fact"

Kids these days don't have very much self-control though, apparently. And no, that isn't the fault of Republicans.

Because they are pandering to the theo cons and feel that effective measures like condoms are a tacit permission or tolerance of having s*x. They are wrong, condoms are an effective public health strategy, because abatinence doesn't work

Aside from the fact that most of them are,"true hypocrites", they are full of faults in their judgment(s) as well...

Keep in mind that they are the first one to tell you about yourself, but yet they find it very difficult to "look in the mirror". which usually occurs when they get wrecked by their, for example, hypocrisy/s*x scandals, etc....at that point, they head into the state of denial; then they begin to smear the messenger or attack the situation altogether with full-fledged "hypocrisy" !

Republican women have MORE abortions then Liberal women because Liberal women have education in birth control and there is no stigma in them USING birth control.

Like it or not republican women do have more abortions. You can't have it both ways.
