Why do Republicans tend to insult other Americans that disagree with them and challenge our Patriotism?

When the fact is, we love America just as much, if not more. We often prove it by speaking truth to power and speaking against the religious right (ironic name since most of the time they are wrong and hateful) and the political establishment (which will do any and everything to hold on to power, including destroying and selling out the country).

I don't use the term American and patriotic quite as loosely as you democrats. By my definition, you are American if you are born here or have been granted citizenship, so most of you liberals probably fit that definition. But patriotic, you all are not patriotic.

Facts are not on their side. With that in mind, they use wedge issues based on religion (abortion, g*y rights, stem cell research) to distract voters from real issues such as jobs, education, health care, etc...

They question peoples patriotism over c**p like flag pins..  Republicans play to the fears of those who aren't used to doing any real thinking.

Democrats do the same thing.  It's not really large numbers of Democrats or Republicans, either.  It's just the small, rabidly vocal minority.  The Democratic mad dogs don't question patriotism as much...they just insult and cry n**i/racist/sexist/hater.  The Republican mad dogs like to say that anyone who doesn't think the country ALWAYS needs a bigger military, and that the country ALWAYS needs to be using it against some other country like to think they're more patriotic than anyone else.
