Why do Republicans think they own the "Family Values Platform"?

Democrats preach morality as a part of their platform.

I see Democrats bashing a teen who is pregnant and want to act like Republicans are marching the streets and saying that all teenage kids should get pregnant.  Also that somehow it's due to bad parenting.  I guess no Democrat ever disobeyed their parents or ever went sneaking around.

Why do we allow ourselves to be distracted by this red herring?

Positions on Civil Rights, the Economy, Tax Policy, Ethics,

and Foreign Policy are what we should be scrutinizing.

"Right to Life" is a moral issue that should be handled in the

Moral area, and not a subject of Legislation. It's far too personal

a matter to allow Government to become involved.

To allow that to happen is a long slide down a very

'slippery slope'.

We DO NOT want to go there!

"Why do Republicans think they own the Family Values Platform?" It's a mystery to me but the Evangelical Republicans definitely think they are the only ones that have any family values. Their litmus test is all based on whether a person is pro-life or Pro-Choice and they erroneously think the latter group are all a bunch of "murderers." That falsehood raises a lot of money for the social conservatives.
