...that were meant for people who have had actual paranormal experiences even though they, themselves have never had one?

Are they on a mission to try to make their point?

  1. I don't know but I find it very irritating. If one doesn't believe in certain things, I don't see why they think it's their job to try and convert others towards their mindset. They are often responsible for unwarranted 'thumbs down' too.

  2. Its their opinion i guess, some people refuse to believe even when they have had weird (paranormal) experiences... Not much we can do to change their mind. As for me i try to explain it as much as i can, if not i chalk it up to the weird, but the doesn't mean its a ghost... Just unexplained and weird.

  3. Experience is a poor substitute for data.  Maybe that's the point they're trying to make.

  4. I may be wrong here, but did you mean to write the word 'skeptics'?

(Unless, of course, you were refering to those Greek philosophers who asserted the impossibility of knowledge.)

  5. If you could proof a paranormal experience, scientifically or any other way:

1.) It would not be paranormal.

2.) Back to "seeing is believing!"

    3.) Believing is seeing.

    4.) A quick calculation: Plus/minus 40 different  'paranormals'

5.) There are Still people who believe the earth is flat.

6.) Without experience and knowledge, everybody is a skeptic.

    The force be with you.

  6. This brings to mind several things.  1.  Why do you think you know what other people want when they are asking questions?  2.  Having had a paranormal experience doesn't make you an expert on them.  I went to the dentist last week (had a dental experience), but I am not a dental expert.  A smart, logical person who had never been to the dentist may very well have a lot of insight I missed.  3.  As much as it might frustrate you, you aren't some sort of Yahoo Answers cop who can tell people what to think and where to post.  How boring life would be if we all held the same view.

  7. Everybody is "on a mission" to make their point, believer and skeptic alike. That's why you answer a question -- to give your viewpoint. Many skeptics enjoy participating in the paranormal category. And everyone on Yahoo Answers is free to answer any question they like.

  8. I don't *try* to answer anything.  If I see a question I answer it (usually) honestly and almost always to the best of my ability.

This is a public forum.  If you have difficulty understanding what that entails I suggest you stick to the private, members-only boards.  If your beliefs are so precious they can't withstand the scrutiny of a public airing, then perhaps that's where you should be anyway.

And besides, I have seen plenty of true believers on here who have had no paranormal experiences either.  How do you explain that?

  9. Nothing good on TV?

  10. Sceptic or skeptic, either one works. Sceptic is a variant of skeptic.

  11. Speaking for myself, because I want to give folks another option. No offense but without some back up.You're experience is only a spooky anecdote.
