  1. The Sam's Club business model is to attract customers by having a very low retail markup and to make up for the low markup through the sale of memberships. The $40 membership is annual, not monthly.

If you have a large family or run a small business you easily save the cost of the membership fee.

  2. I have been in their stores as a guest with a member.  I think the $40 is an annual fee.

On occasion they will send out free 30 passes to the general public as a marketing tool.

  3. Whats crazy ...is that people are willing to pay for the privilege to shop there

    Is that fee monthly?

    I thought it was yearly

  4. You are not accurate in your reporting. Membership to Sam's Club is $ 40.00 per year For this fee, they have the privilege of shopping at discount prices for almost any kind of product. If the person does much buying for a large family, for a business, for a TV or a set of auto tires the savings will more than pay for the fee. So why should one who doesn't belong to Sam's get the benefit that a member pays for ?

  5. The $40 is per year. I save that in gas alone. Also small businesses and large families can save a ton using Sam's.
