Why do Serial Killers become what they are?

Do you think they are born that way, there family life growing up, loneliness and boredom. Just want some opinions.

  1. Seems to be more they were just born that way.  Many serial killers do experience abuse at home, but many don't.  All though seem to share a common biology and an early love of violence.

  3. Their mommas don't treat em right when they're kids.

  4. The environment they were raised in, or maybe something traumatic happened in their life that drove them to become what they are.
