Why do TV reporters bother asking convention goers what they thought of the speech?

Does anyone think a Rebpublican delegate is going to say it stunk?

Same thing at the Dem convention. They ask these delegates questions as if they represent the general public and not the hardcore party operatives.

Isn't this inane!

  1. I agree with you, but it seems It is much easier for the TV reporters/pundits to ask convention goers what they think of the speech since they are all there under the same roof.  The pundits have guests lined up for interviews in between the speeches and they love to voice their own questions and opinions on the shows.  CNN, MSNBC and Fox News have simple surveys for viewers to vote on on their websites.    


  2. I agree.  I think they have to fill up air time and maybe give the appearance that they are doing reporting.  I personally would rather that they go to a public place where people are watching the convention and then ask THEM what they thought - before the pundits start spinning everything.
