Why do Tetanus shots hurt?

why does the tetanus shot always make my arm hurt so bad??? It's been well over 12 hours and my arm feels like there's a big bruise on it :(

generallyn what mkes a shot hurt is not the needle but whats injected. some substances are more costic to cells than others, also the amount ijected say 1cc compared wit 4cc's. basically it's the chemical make-up. the paion will go away, might take a day or 2

im not sure why they hurt, but the pain and bruising should go away within no more than 2 days
