Why do West Ham fans hate Paul Ince?

paul ince was playing for west ham and had agreed to personal terms for a transfer to man utd. Before he left to go on vacation he posed for a picture with the jersey so that when the news broke the papers would have one and Ince wouldn't have to fly back to take a picture with a jersey. the Daily Express ran the picture before the deal was finalized and west ham fans have hated him since.

I thought it was for a variety of reasons.  Apart from the shirt thing - didn't he have an attitude  problem?  Any player who enjoys the nickname 'Governor' suggests he's a bit uppity.

Albeit only from MOTD screenings - I never rated him that highly - but then I was an Upton Park regular in the days of Hurst, Peters & Moore.(who won the World Cup, of course.)

I think another reason (unless my remembery is decaying in old age) was we took a risk on Ince - he had some sort of heart condition - so it didn't go down too well when he seemed so keen to leave. With money nowadays the governing influence it's common for players to show less than loyalty - even moving to bitter rivals (eg United to City or Pool). General view was Ince didn't have his heart & soul in WHAM. Less than good attitude, perhaps.

he was tapped up by that cheating b****d sir alex ferguson and was manipulated into posing in man.u shirts while stil a WHAM player. aditionally he sent them out of the FA Cup a few years after and then when he injured their captain in 02 that was just a kick in the teeth
