  1. i dont like harry potter i love harry potter its the best i never reread any book but harry potter its so interesting very mysterious im trying my best to solve this which makes it more interesting. of all the books i read harry potter books have this magical aura that really makes you feel that you are part of a very fantastic out of this world story

  2. I enjoy that books grow up. While the first ones were really a nice tale, the last books got so deep that I just couldn't do anything but love them.

Once my friend and I got the discussion whether HP will be classics. He chose the opposing part [although he adores HP],a nd said that it cannot be classics, because classics leave a person with this woeful, leaden feeling when you finish them.

That is exactly why I like HP - all the books beginning with 4th one has provided me with woeful, leaden feeling :)

  3. I like Harry Potter because of the book's complex story, how original it is, how entertaining the whole story is, how interesting this new world is, how creative it is, how each character is so different and how their personalities are all different in some way, and how fun it is to watch and read.

  4. i felt like i was a part of the story. i was in  there with them. i listened to the cd's. the man who read the books was fabulous. his name is jim dale. he did all the voices. i am an adult and i loved all the books.

  5. We have three generations under my roof that read Harry Potter, my 10 year old son, myself (38) and my mom who is 62.  We are all huge Potter fans.  We all agree that the books move smoothly and are easy to read which is always a plus.  But lots of books are that way and they don't pull you in like Potter does.

For myself, the minute I read page one I was hooked.  I can't even remember why really.  Maybe cause here was this poor little boy who had no one really and he was kind of odd and definitely outcast.  I never fit in when I was a kid so here was a kid that I could relate to.  But unlike me this kid had a ticket into a magical world that would change everything for him.  Lets face it, Rowlings created a wonderful world.  Hogwarts and the world surrounding it are amazing and the story is just a really good rags to riches story.  Most people enjoy reading about the underdog and how he makes good in the world, well if Harry Potter isn't an underdog I don't know what else he is.  Its a brilliantly well written story and it captures the imagination.  Rowlings has accomplished something that I haven't seen in a very long time and that is to get kids reading again. Kudos to her and her brilliant story. Hope this helps.

  6. It's so simple.

    It's magical.

And for those who said it was not as good as Twilight, shame on all of you! Twilight characters will never live as Harry Potter characters did, Twilight characters don't have any of the depth and mysteries like Harry Potter (eg Severus Snape) does. Twilight writing is terrible! There are grammar mistakes in there! The vocab is atocious! And it doesn't have the subtle, intricate details that Harry Potter does! I mean, there is a REASON Severus is called severus, Dubledore call dumbledore, does EDWARD have a reason behind it??

So don't you DARE compare Harry Potter to Twilight!

  7. I wasn't an immediate fan of the Harry Potter books, but I bought SS when it was first published and I thought it was a cool book.  I don't think my best friend and I got obsessed until a year or so later.

Anyway...I like Harry Potter because the writing style makes it a really quick and easy read.  And they're full of adventures and magic that temporarily distracts you from real life.  It was fun to daydream about attending a boarding school for wizards =) I think the fact that it was about a kid in my age range also helped.

  8. i was obsessed and still obsessed with these books they are amazing ..they truly changed my life

the writing is the best simple enchanting writing that just finds it's way through the flicks of ur mind and it gives u that magical feeling of everything about the book .. u feel the characters and there problems ...u live in harry and sometimes u even forget what he forgets and feel what he feels .... each character in the story has he's own personality it's like rowling had lived in each character she truly presented their personality with great success and devotion .....the climax and the action were breath taking u can hardly breath and mostly my throat gets dry from the shouting i do while reading them firing hexes and spells.... u can guarantee discovering secrets and linking them to things that happened in the past (like the lost diadem i never thought harry past it in the 6th and as he remembered i remembered with him) ..... the amazing drama she presented with the deaths of a great number of big characters ..... the unexpected and the expected romance that keeps popping in the way ... the funny moments that are arranged in a very smart way and the worldplay she used (like when harry said to snape: no need to call me sir professor) ....the ability to evoke the deepest cries and the deepest laughter...she gave the true features of evil and the evil doers and how they might be not all together evil (like the malfoys) .... how she created an entire WORLD of MAGIC that was very interesting from creatures to lessons to books to ministry to past habbits to games to international tournaments and every aspect u might never imagin it existed

anyway i can babble like that forever and i can't give a full statement of how exactly did harry potter change my life becuase harry potter is simply too MAGICAL to describe!!

  9. I like Harry Potter because it was so easy to get lost in the world.  I read the first three books in two days.  That's total, not each.

I continue to like and read Harry because there are so many levels.  I found out a while ago that sometimes it's fun to go through and read them all looking for things.  Like things that Ron may have predicted.  Keep an eye out for the well done foreshadowing.  I once read through looking for the number 12.  All I learned is that it's there a lot, but I didn't find any particular rhyme or reason to it.

There are messages in there too.  Like the obvious Racism theme.  The importance of friendship with people like and unlike you.

I even found a small personal philosophy in there: Socks are important.  It's my way of remembering that sometimes the little things are the most important, but then, sometimes socks are just socks.

  10. hmmm... well, I guess its because of the complexitiy of the plot; The whole new world that Rowling created; and the relateble characters within the story.

  11. harry potter is the epitome of greatness

i think it is the best book ever written

i read it still even though I've read it 400 times

    i grew up with it

    it's my baby

  12. I really just like how easy it is to get wrapped up in that world.  Like, i feel close to the charecters and stuff.  I just feel connected to it, and that makes me sound crazy but its just how i feel :)

  13. its simple yet magical.

    :-p

  14. i use o like hp.

but i like twilight saga much better.

  15. I like Harry Potter because it's fantasy and i love fantasy. It has really imaginative/creative storylines too.

I like Twilight better, but still love HP

  16. I don't like Harry Potter because it's not my kind of genre.

I wouldn't dare compare this to Twilight because they are both about different topics.

  17. Ok, there are two kinds of answers I could give for this question. First of all... the books itself.

The writing is good writing for kids. The characters are realistic and relatable, bur most of all, the world is addicting. You let yourself get taken away to Hogwarts where you can perform magic and fight evil. Also, there are a lot of good messages carried in the books. Don't discriminate. Love is the most powerful weapon. Friendship is always important, even when times are hard. Sacrifices must be made to help others, etc. One of the best parts of the book is the mystery... how all of the sudden a random character mention in CoS is hugely important in Harry's life or something. It all connects and relates, but a lot of it is surprising.

Ok... answer number two. Why I, specifically, like HP, even 9 years after first reading it. Well, when I picked it up as a 7 year old, I fell in love with the books I read them like I read no other book, and my imagination grew like crazy. I made friends through my love for HP, attended HP Halloween and birthday parties, and would read the new book every summer. Because of HP, today I daydream constantly, write my own stories everyday, Wrock out with the HP alliance for Darfur and other important causes, read books (all books) obsessively, eat cereal very close to the bowl, have life-long friends and act like a complete dork in public. And I couldn't be more grateful. HP was a huge part of my childhood, therefore it is a huge part of who I am. Case closed.
