I think it's because they believe that they will understand boys better. They get more overprotective and caring when they have girls since they are smaller and stuff, so I don't think they necesarily (I'm gonna fall into a coma if I didn't spell that wrong) get on better with their daughters, they just don't feel the need to protect their sons that much.

Dunno,  I have 2 daughters and no sons, just what I wanted, so no problem there !!

Men figure it'll be easier if it's a boy, it's familiar territory for them.  They can take him to do all the same things that they did as a little boy.  Once the little girl is born the guy realizes that she's this perfect little princess that he must protect.

Because they think they can mould them into little better versions of themselves. Until they realise they have there own individual personalities they love boys but girls are there little princess' and men like to feel they can protect

share taste in rock music

son wants to follow in his fahers foot steps

it has a lot to do with the interaction with the child as they get older ...  interests in sport etc...  a drinking buddy years down the line .....   also to participate in the kids sports an have common interests ...  also consider the other thing of the continuation of the family name with having a boy  well in the traditional sense of things and on those lines i suppose having a boy kinda gives a man the person to pass the torch on as the head of the family
