Why do a lot of white Americans refuse to believe anything Obama says and yet gobble up everything McCain?

pervasive racism?  only if you're looking for it.  Personally, I don't believe either one of them - I stopped believing campaign promises a looooong time ago.  However, with McCain's choice of a VP, I'm about to fall off the fence and into Obama's camp.  Either him or Minnie Mouse (I backed Hillary 100%).

The pervasive racism is in your democratic party where it always has been!  Also your dems will show their true colors as sexist also when they start attacking palin, and for the record geraldine ferraro was a cheap desperate gimmick to try to defeat reagan and it got you what one state (and it wasn't her state), palin got mccain an instant endorsement from dobson and we conservatives love her already so.....just go watch a rerun of an obama speech and try to console yourself with another republican president coming up! Because the media is failing at it's job on educating the public. Instead, the corporate media looks for a story so that it can gain more ratings.

I don't think they truly believe everything McCain says, but they just don't want to see a black man get in power. Yes, it's stubborn closet racism.

The only racism in this society is the racism kept alive by people like you. If Obama had the ideas of a Republican I would vote for him in a second. I dont like Obama because he is a Liberal Socialist, just like yourself.

It has to do more with right-wing propaganda and the gullible people they target and count on to win elections.  If everyone were educated and had critical thinking skills, they would know that there is no longer a Republican party - it has become the Fascist party and is unrecognizable from the Republican party of yore.

Because Obama doesn't say anything. He just runs his mouth without giving any substance. Any old fool can talk about change, it takes a real canidate to say how this change will come about, which Obama has yet to do.

Why do black Americans believe everything Obama says. Last I heard a poll said 98% of eligible black Americans were going to vote for Obama. This is up from the usual 85 to 90 percent of blacks that vote for the democrat nominee in a presidential election. You will never get 98% of white Americans to vote for a single white candidate in a national election. Is it the result of the  pervasive racism in the black community?
