Why do airlines lie and not include the taxes in their ticket prices?

Question

On bmibaby, it's 7.99 euros a ticket. With taxes, 100 euros.

On aerlingus, 17 euros a ticket. Plus 77.65 euros taxes.

On transavia, 57 euros, plus 179,37 euros taxes.

Can they not just put the proper prices instead of faking their way through it? I mean, f**k, I'm just trying to book tickets and all I get is all these lies.

yes, you are exaggerating with "lies".  The airline only gets the base fare amount.  It costs money to load and fly bags, so why should somebody flying with hand luggage have to pay the same as somebody using that extra service?  Likewise, it costs more for the airline if you check in at airport, vs. checking in online.  

If you want to complain about taxes, talk to the government.  They're not the airlines' fault!

Because the taxes and add on charges can be different for every ticket sold.  Anyone who has traveled more than once on a plane, KNOWS the ticket price is just the BASE price and they automatically add another 25 PERCENT to come close to the actual price.

Why should they? The airline doesnt make any money from the taxes.

Taxes are diffrent for every flight so it would be impossible to include them in the ticket price.

Diffrent airports charge airlines diffrent amouts to land there and governments charge airlines too, the UK government charges more than anywhere in the world, as usual

Here in the U.S. the price you pay for something in a grocery store does not have taxes added to it so we know that the ticket price listed does not include any other fees such as airport fee or fuel surcharge.

A possible reason the other fees are not listed may be because the airlines do not collect on the other surcharges or taxes that are added onto the price of the ticket.

It also annoys me how they charge extra for luggage too!
