  1. Your storm analogy is spot on! Most of the noise heard from  an aircraft in flight is created by the effect it is having on the atmosphere around it.

On the ground most of the ambient noise is generated by the engines.

  2. its the sound of rushing air. The air coming out of a jet engine is moving faster than a tornado, which also makes a similar sound.

  3. friction  with air +engines sound =big noisee

  4. Jets change their air intake and throttle controls makes them screaming sounds.  it's when u don't hear 'em b scared..........

  5. Perhaps you are referring to the sonic boom which can be heard when an aircraft crosses from transonic to supersonic speed.

  6. no idea what you are talking about, engine noise maybe?

  7. It's really not a "Why" kind of thing.  The roaring whoosh is the natural sound of a jet airplane passing over.  Get used to it.  They all make about the same sound.

If you really want the details of the physics involved, ask your science teacher for help finding some information.

  8. because they are going fast in one direction

  9. Jet engines are really loud.

    That would be it.

  10. It's the sound of the engine(s)

  11. Because they have engines, that are loud and burn jet fuel. They also aren't muffled like cars are.
