Why do all Serbian peoples name end with ovic at the end?

Well, not all end with "ovic", but actually two of three Serbian surnames end with "ic" and are based an names. Jovanović (John), Petrović (Peter), Marković (Marc) or Djordjević (George). Other common name endings are "ev", "ov", and "ac".

Same reason as Scandinavian names end with SON or SEN, Scottish names start with Mc or MAC, Irish names start with O', Dutch names have a VAN in front etc.. I don't know what ovic means, but it wouldn't surprise me if it means "of" or "son of" or something in that direction.
