Not all of them do, look at Hincapie.  Landis always had scruff and a goatee.

as in most sports that require speed im guessing that if reduced wind resistance. even the littlest objects create drag

Not true look at Valverde, he's not shaved on the face.

Cyclists only and systematicaly shaved their legs because it makes it easier for the masseur' work and  for treating road rash.
