being under the blankets or sunbathing when it's like 150 degrees in the room. Why do they love the heat so much like that? You would think all that fur would retain so much heat already. Eww I would freak out. I don't get it. * Chi = short for chihuahua

  1. Look at the lions and cheetahs etc etc in Africa!!! Its hot in Africa isnt it. They love the heat, they have evolved to live in a hot climate and so do not like the cold.

    Hope this helps, Jane

  2. Jane is right, cats love to keep warm and toasty, especially on their stomachs where there's less fur and more of a chance of sunburn.

  3. I have no idea. I keep the AC going for my cats and they go to the hottest room they can find and sunbathe. It's weird

  4. My chihuahua does the same thing.  When I am throwing covers off because I've gotten too warm, she is still curled up under them.  Chihuahuas do chill easily.  She likes to sleep in the sunbeams, too.

I've had a couple of kitties that like to sleep under the covers too.  One kitty would sleep most of the night curled in my arms under the covers.  I have another that likes to snuggle for a while but then comes back out to claim her pillow.

Purrs to you and your critters.
