  1. I called mine Blanky and I am very proud of my individuality in that matter! lol

  2. My son calls his the 'blankie'.

    :-)

  3. My son calls his an elmo blanket which is what it is.  So I don't know.

  4. My son has two blankets - one Teedy Weedy and the other is Stripsey Tee.  Don't ask me why.  There's your one child.

  5. Both of my kids have "security blankets".  Their names are "yellow"  and "polka-dot".  The word Binky makes me cringe.

  6. it depends on what the parents call it first.

  7. I have 2 thoughts about it.

    1.  Isn't that kinda like why do "certain" people pronounce ASK=AX.

    2.  It's the adults who teach the kids to call it that. Intsead of saying "Do you want your blanket?" They say "Do you want your binky" I think because  adults have an idea that babies must first speak "baby langauge" Before learning adult english.  Other baby words ....

    Goo Goo

    GaGa=jibberish

    BaBa=bottle

    gink wa wa=drink of water

    I'm firty=I'm thirsty

    go ny ny=go to bed

    nutter one cookie=can I have another cookie?

    You get the picture I'm sure.  I Hope this was helpfull.

  8. i thought a binky was a pacifier

  9. I don't think I have ever heard a safety blanket be called a binky... a pacifier yes, but not a blanket :)

  10. binky is a pacifier,  ive heard blankets called, blankey, woobie, spitty, bankey, different families call it different things,  but ive never heard the blanket called a binky....being a little less general wouldnt hurt.

  11. my sister's was a night-night

  12. Mine was called Blankie lol. Then I have teddy to go with it.

  13. None of my kids have had a safety blanket. So I guess not all kids do.

  14. A "Binky" is a pacifier, not a blanket!  Now, "Blanky" is a different story. My daughter's was a bunny head on a blanket body and was called, "Blanky Bunny."  But, I think that the names come more from the parents than from the kids.  I think it is what the parents call it and the kids pick up on it most of the time.

  15. my daughter used to call her blanket a bonka. I think binky is a passy.

  16. I've always heard of a pacifier as a 'binky'...my son called his security blanket his 'blankie'

  17. I never named mine but my Mom's was "bun bun". Haha.

  18. i have never heard the blankets being a binky.  mine was "worms" because it had the fringe thingys.m :P

  19. Some kids call their blanket , "bankie", because they cannot pronounce blankie, or blanket. I called mine pinkie. (because it was pink)

  20. mine both call them their blankie or blanket...  a binky is generally a pacifier. are you sure theyre not talking about that?

  21. I always associated "binky" with a pacifier. That's just what I've heard people call them. As far as blankets go mine was "blue blankey" and I still have it, up in my closet, to this day(I'm 23!).
