Why do all pretty girls think they should model??

Don't get me wrong...some are absolutely gorgeous and should go for it. Others...you're pretty but nothing amazing...So, what's the deal? Are these girls just in love with themselves or what?? I mean, I know I'm pretty but I don't want to model?? Is it the new 'it' job...like airline stewardess' in the 70's....Pls, be nice...

These girls don't quite understand how difficult modeling actually is. They pretty much believe that they can walk in, put some makeup on, and look pretty for the camera. It goes beyond that. You have to be a certain height and weight, constantly watching your diet and making sure nothing is out of proportion.

Because they can show off their beauty, it is a gift that they have above others and everyone wants to exploit that.

They think it is easy and big money and want attention.  It is Hard work, and that type job only lasts a few short yrs, cause there is always some one younger, and prettier  coming along behind you,

its because they have parents that keep telling them how beautiful they are so they think they are exceptionally beautiful .

also they dont have a great sense of reality cause they go to school and teachers tell them they can be whatever they want, and rich celebrities tell them that they should always follow their dream. its a load of cr*p, not everyone can be a model, and parents and teachers should be honest, not just telling them things to build confidence.

yea it's weird. I don't see myself being a model at all! I don't have that "model" look. Cause im only 5"5...and you gotta be pretty tall to be a model.  Maybe they just like that job for some reason. They probably think it's easy. But when you think of it, theres only like 25 supermodels in the world it's a hard job to get into.

I'm not sure why they think they should be models but with shows like America's Next Top Model and all these popular fashion magazines, it may just be the new "It-girl" job! It really does take a lot of work to be a "top" model though. It's not just about the make-up and glamour. It's about doing  exactly what the photographers and designers and all those people you work with tell you to do and get the look they want you to get. NOT all pretty girls have what it takes. I'm no pro but I do know that. There's a lot of SKILL required to be a super model or catwalk top model, or whatever. I'm not trying to be mean or anything I'm just telling you what I really think. A lot of girls dream about having their face on the cover of magazines. Just like other girls dream of being a headliner and broadway or a pop star. It's their aspiration, and without aspirations where would we be? I don't see what's wrong with that at all. There are plenty of girls who look "average" before they are made into models who turn out to be supermodels, it takes a special eye to identify what they WILL look like.

Just cuz you know you can't do it, dosen't mean other people can't. I hate people who never try something and try to put other people down, when they are trying something almost impossible. It's like me with football, alot of negative people said I could never run under a 5.0 40, but now im running a 4.6 and still gaining. (plus I do modeling and commercials)

Yeah it's really annoying. most of these girls are just looking for attention and half of them don't realize you have to be at least 5'8 to model.
