And Americans want to be Canadian?

Canada is so much better than America.

They have their own oil companies, and

their economy isnt in recession. Next step is

Depression, isnt it? SO why not stay in beautiful Canada?

  1. Well guess what, all citizens of Canada, Mexico and the U. S are North Americans.  The U.S has taken the title of Americans or America when referring to their country. It is like France or Germany calling their country Europe when ever referring too them selves...rather than narrowing down to the country of their origin.  For some reason the U.S. does not want to be known world wide as a country rather, it seems to want the world to see it bigger and more important by calling it by the continents name.   "America this...America that...and here it is really the US that they are talking about. Canada is a country that is part of North America and really don't wish or want to be a citizen of the U.S.  nice to visit but wouldn't want to live there.

  2. i am canadian and LOVE canada!

no offense to any americans but i'd so much prefere to live here then there.

sure, we have more taxes but free health care, free education systems, gun control, i find canadians to be really polite.

i love it here, esp. toronto

  3. Huh?

Why do Canadians always post these types of questions?

It makes you guys seem like you have the worlds biggest inferiority complex.

Just be satisfied that you are what you are and stop having to compare yourselves to other countries all the time. It's not very flattering.

  4. Is not it the other way around.

When I am traveling,  I keep running into all type of

Americans pretending to be Canadian.  And displaying

Canadian flag, and various Canadian logos on them.

I have yet to run into a Canadian, caring anything but to

    be so.

  5. Because all Americans want to be Canadians?  lol

  6. I only know of one lady that actually wanted to be an American.  But they can have her.  She wasn't that great.

The rest of us think the US is a nice place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there.

  7. america is over-rated

  8. Where on earth did you get the idea that "all the Canadians want to be Americans"? Generalizing is so misleading and even dangerous.

I cannot speak for the other 33 million adults but I sure don't!! I love Canada and I love being Canadian. Judging from many of the answerers at YA, I am not alone.

I lived in the U.S. for a while and frankly found it backward when compared to Canada. Some professions find it easier to find work in the States and some can earn better money there but that is not the same as saying they want to become Americans. I am sure that American's have similar feelings about Canada - those that even know we are here.

That is a very wrong generalization. Don't do that!

Edit to harry k - My turn to talk in generalities! :o) Most Canadians do not talk this way usually. Chances are better that it is an American teenager.

  9. hm..because we don't! At least i don't wanna be an American

  10. The grass is greener....

I think you will find that many Canadian people who spend time in the US are "snowbirds" who head south in the winter.

  11. Where'd you get that idea?

  12. maybe they don't. plus we don't want all the americans here

    joking

  13. Canadians don't want to become Americans.

  14. I don't want to be american.

and yes I agree that Canada is a better country, but they have some things that we dont have here thats pretty good.

  15. I don't want to be American.  And I don't know anybody else living in Canada who wants to be American either.

  16. Ahem, I dont want to be American. I've lived both places (am a canadian citizen) and I prefer Canada to the USA anyday! It's dirty and there are barely any recycling (im not a tree hugger, i just think people should AT LEAST recycle!) Also, they say the US is cheaper for shopping, but I definatley disagree!

  17. I've never heard either side claim that they would rather BE the other. Sounds like made-up garbage to me.

Canada is a much more expensive place to live than here, prices on many things are double what we pay.

Surprisingly, we do have our own oil companies in the U.S.

Yes, Canada has socialized everything, which is a big plus. They've got us beat there.

Recession is a normal part of any thriving economy.....we've been through it before and survived just fine.

The U.S. has SO much more things to do and see, so we've got them beat there.

There's good and bad trade-off's, but I'd rather stick to the U.S.

No offence to Canadians, but it's kind of boring there. Nice people though.

  18. To the best of my knowlege most Canadians that I know have absolutely no desire to become Americans. As for the Americans I didn't know they wanted to become Canadians.  I like it here in Canada just fine.
