Question:

Why do all the online packages for travel to Australia only ever include two twin or one queen beds?

I would like two queen or two double beds, but I can't find a hotel that seems to offer that. Is this typical for AU or are the online packages just not good deals?

  1. I find this unusual.  It would be interesting to know the names of the accommodation places that offer these bedding arrangements.  But, we do like big beds.  Kings are very popular.   :)

  2. Sorry, but they are all the same here as a standard room here is only half the size as the US.Also you will find the rooms in the USA are twice as good for the same money here.I am staying in a Motel at the moment for AUD $75 a night, for what you get in the USA,this is a rip off.One double and one single. You guys got it good. You also don't get breakfast here for free.

Could I give you some advice.Do the same as I did in the USA.Book a few nights before you leave,Work out where you are heading and book online on www.wotif.com.au or similar site and save your money.Infact do it all on line and save heaps.Australia is easy to fly around and pretty cheap to drive if you get a 4 cylinder car.

Also if you are staying in one place for a few days ,try looking for holiday houses or units at google.com.au.

Also have heaps of holiday cabins over here on the beaches etc for a decent price in caravan parks.Good value and more room than a motel.Seach engine again for caravan parks. As you see there are many options here.Use the word in the search engine as described as you guys have different words there for the same meaning.

I hope this helps with your travels and please have a great time,we really like Americians here and you will get a great chance to meet the locals if you try something a little different.

  3. Sorry, but it is different here.

  4. We do not publicly condone foursomes, orgies, or group sexual activities for non Australians.

This is something we keep to ourselves.

We'll ask those god peddlers to throw in a few extra Gideons in your room. I think people from outside Australia read the bibles. We don't. They are not even worth stealing.

Now you stay morally uncorrupted now. OK?

  5. It has nothing to do with online packages, but just the way hotels are set up.  Doesn't matter who you book through, the result will be the same.

I think it would be difficult to find any hotel in the world that provides two double or two queen sized beds in one room.  How often do two couples stay in the one room, or perhaps that's a question I shouldn't ask??

The majority of hotels I've stayed in, and this includes Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Europe, provide either one queen or double bed; two twin beds; or one queen/double bed and one single bed.

  6. well this is not the US

sorry if  you are so worried about the beds best holiday in the states, you cant compare countries to the states, every country has its own ways and dont want to be like the states

  7. There are hotels with 2 double beds, you just have to look for them. In Melbourne the Novotel on Elizabeth street offers 2 double beds.

Most places will have a double/queen and a single OR a double/queen and 2 singles.
