Why do alot of white people hate themselves?

Don't hate yourself just because of what your race did in the past. Your skin color doesn't define you and your personality. After all, only the rich can buy slaves back then. And, the poor have always outnumbered the rich. So, under 50% of America owned slaves back then. Don't bash yourself just because of what color you are. BTW, that goes for everyone. Not just whites. I just asked about white people because on this website, many white people seem to hate themselves.

Trust me, most whites may feel bad about what their ancestors did, but they don't hate themselves for something they themselves did not do. This is the first time I heard this, to be perfectly honest.

I don't hate myself at all. I'm part Mexican, but still. Even if it were my ancestor who was a slave owner (my family didn't even migrate here till the 1920's) I wouldn't feel bad because I didn't do anything personally.

Thats good, but I don't personally know anyone who is white that hates theirselves because of the past.

As much as I disagree with what has happened in the past, I'm not going to hate myself over it.

Well most whites today arent even decended from the whites that owned slaves..Most slave owners are now hillbillies in the south.

they're not sensitive...you guys are just inconsiderate, you can't blame people if they deplore some sad past happenings a long time ago. Japan, Germany and some other developed countries in the world did not have slaves before they have become what they are right now...as far as i know! anyway, don't feel bad if your white, it's not you who did it, nor your parents...

I think it's interesting how people always think it ended at slavery. They forget about the segregation, violence, and being treated like dirt by whites for decades after-wards.  

So while your feeling sorry for yourself, take that in consideration as well.

They dont hate themselves because of what randomass other people, whom today's white people have nothing to do with, did hundreds of years ago.

The white people on this site and in real life whom I know are proud to be white, which is perfectly alright.

i don't think alot of white people hate themselves because of that.Do you wanna know why?they didn't do anything,they weren't involved with slavery,they didn't own a slave or beat anybody,yea some of them feel bad about it because that was horrible,it shouldn't have ever happened.plus not all white people came from families or have ancestors who treated black people bad,not all white people are racist,

what does anything you said have to do with white people hating themselves?  slavery is not the issue, it's what happened after that brings on white guilt.  white guilt is not the same as white hatred, so please stop stereotyping us.
