Why do american people speak english and not american?

  2. Yeah, England is our friend. Too bad the rest of the world doesn't seem to get us  :(

  3. They do speak American, and I speak Canadian, eh.  There are many different spellings, etc., not to mention accents.  In Canada though there are very few accent differences.  Unusual for such a large unpopulated country.

    The language is just called English because we want to make them feel good.

  4. Because the English were the first people that settled here.  I thought most americans spoke spanish.
