  1. HAHA I FEAL BAD FOR YOU AND NOT ALL USA SCHOOLS GET 12 WEEKS OF BREAK LIKE WE END MAY 30 AND START SEPTEMBER 2 MAYBE YOU GET LONGER BREAKS THEN WE DO

  2. It's been thay way for as long as I can remember.  Think it has to do with agriculture and children being necessary to help with crops in the growing season.

  3. Because they WANT to be stupid

  4. they say its because they dont have half terms and only a short easter, but if you work it out it still doesn't add up to six weeks. ive only got 5 weeks off for some reason this summer

  5. May be they following USA law AND DON'T FORGET that teacher have the right to live as you want so they need vacation to relax and sit with their family and childeren

  6. mwhahaha h**l with all of you , i got 4 monts break! yaayy!

but its boring as h**l so its nothing to be happy about.

  7. cause its different skool settings. just like people in michigan now have to start skool after laborday where ohio people dont. everyone is different. who knows we might be changing our skool settings soon again.

  8. well i guess b/c its america's laws and stuff but ive heard for some years now that we wont have the summer break at all ??? not sure what will come of that though

  9. the US / Canada dont get 'half-term' breaks and get less time at easter too

  10. That's why Brits are so clever.

  11. Here in Ireland I get around 12 weeks of summer hols in secondary school. From the end of May to the end of August / start of September. I've always thought the UK's summer hols seemed very short...

  12. Because other countries take education more seriously than America.

  13. i would rather get 6 weeks then 12 weeks cause trust me after awhile there is really nothing left to do for summer break and it gets kind of boring.

  14. Ahh i asked my mum this question today !!

    Lol.

It's because they don't  get half terms like us in the UK do.

Of course they get christmas, and thanks giving holidays, but they don't get as many weeks of during the year as us.

    Hope i helped !!

  15. Maybe American parents like having their kids around while UK parents can't wait to ship them off to school, boarding or day school.

  16. Different country, different laws that is why.

  17. because it wouldn't be fair if you got to have AMAZING accents &&& the same amount of summer break :D

  18. Because they actually have sun in summer, while us brits are stuck with S****y weather so what's the point of longer holidays?

  19. School in the Northeast USA got out June 24th and will go back in two days..  Aug 26th.  That is NOT twelve weeks summer break.

  20. We have a longer growing season in the US.  Traditionally, summer break was necessary as the children were required on the farm to help with harvesting the crops.
